What am I using to connect devices to my HDTV?
How am I protecting my HDTV and connected components?
What am I using to clean my HDTV?

Austere HDMI cables, Power surge protectors and Clean & Protect are guaranteed to maximize the performance of your HDTV and other AV components. Keep reading to find out how.
4K HDMI
Using a Premium High Speed HDMI cable is the best way to achieve the picture quality you expect from today’s most popular 4K displays, including OLED, QLED, LED and 4K HDR TVs.
Many people don’t know what version of HDMI cable they have. Because there have been 13 versions of HDMI since its inception, if your cable is a few years old there’s a very good chance it isn’t the latest version and won’t support 4K HDR, meaning you’ll lose the deeper color and contrast that your HDR television is capable of providing. HDR results in brighter more vivid images with greater contrast and a wider array of colors for a picture much closer to what we see in real life.
Austere HDMI cables are Premium Certified and are tested to ensure they support the full 18Gbps bandwidth from the Premium High Speed HDMI specification for feature-rich 4K/Ultra-HD content.
Power Surge Protector
The most important function of a surge protector is to protect your equipment. When shopping for a surge protector it’s important to pay special attention to the Joule rating.
You might be wondering what a Joule is? It’s a measurement of energy. For example, one Joule is the amount of energy required to pick an apple up for one second. So, one Joule is not a lot of energy. And each time your household gets hit with small electrical spikes, your surge protector sacrifices Joules to protect the connected components. Once your unit’s Joules are depleted, your system is no longer protected.
While any device that gets plugged into an AC outlet can benefit from surge protection, the higher the value of your equipment, the higher the surge protector Joule rating you’ll want. A common question we hear is, how many Joules do I need to protect my TV? For HDTVs it is best to consider the highest Joule ratings – at least 2000.
At 3000 or 4000 Joules, Austere surge protectors provide longer-lasting protection than your average power strip. If you haven’t bought a new surge protector in more than a year, chances are you’re out of Joules. The good news is if you buy an Austere power unit, you are covered by the Connected Component guarantee for at least the next five years.
Also, important to note, TVs are not covered from surges and spikes by manufacturer warranties, so investing in a surge protector with a high Joule rating is the best thing you can do to safeguard your television.
Clean & Protect
The fact is that all surfaces get dirty and harmful contaminants can damage surfaces functionally and cosmetically. The last thing you want to do is to damage your expensive TV while trying to clean it. That’s why Austere created Clean & Protect.
The alcohol and ammonia free solution uses gentle, non-damaging ingredients to protect your screen’s sensitive surface and maintain the integrity of its protective coating. And unlike most products on the market, Austere Clean & Protect is formulated with anti-bacterial agents to eliminate common germs. The proprietary solution has been independently tested and proven more than 99% effective against common germs.
To make the cleaning process simple, a dual-textured cloth has been included to remove dust and clean your TV gently and thoroughly for a picture-perfect screen.
And there you have it. Three products for connecting, protecting and cleaning your HDTV. Here’s to an ultimate home theater experience every time you turn on your system
